Venue & Accomodation

The meeting will be held in the Kongresshotel Potsdam. This hotel is located in the outskirts of Potsdam, at a lakeside but only a few tram stations from the city center. Potsdam neighbors the german capital Berlin, and is easily reached from the international airports Berlin-Tegel (TXL) and Berlin-Schönefeld (SXF).

We have negotiated a special package for the whole workshop with an arrival on Sunday 31st May 2015 and a departure on Saturday, 6th June 2015. All participants, have to book this package to participate at the conference. The total rates are:

668 Euro per Person for a single room
512 Euro per Person for a shared double room

Double rooms can be shared with other workshop participants or accompanying persons. For accompanying persons who will not participate in the workshop (except for the social events) it is possible to reduce the accomodation costs by removing the conference benefits from the hotel package. If you are coming with accompanying persons, please indicate this during the final registration and we will send you the detailed booking instructions.

The public transport in the Berlin-Potsdam area is usually reliable, efficient, and easy to access. You can use one of the following websites to search for a proper route. Please specify Potsdam, Kongresshotel am Templiner See as your final destination:

Note: You will be redirected to the Bahn website with a more complex form. All you have to do there is confirm your input and select only local transport in the "Means of transport" field. (The last is to avoid connections using long-distance trains which are not included in the normal tickets.)

If you have a smartphone, you could also install the DB navigator App for finding the most efficient connection at suitable times. However, be aware that mobile internet might come with high roaming costs. (Free WiFi in public locations is rare in Germany and it is not available in trains or busses!)

In order to help you finding your way to the conference, we have also created a travel information document. It includes information about ticket types, prices and possible route descriptions. Especially for those who are not so familiar with public transport systems, we recommend to print it and take it with you for your travel.
